Massachusetts Special Education Teacher Killed in Auto Accident ...

A woman working as a special education teacher in Massachusetts for 25 years was killed after an automobile accident involving a pickup truck. The accident occurred as the woman was crossing an intersection and failed to make a stop. Her Mazda vehicle collided with the pickup truck as the truck was crossing in a westbound direction. The woman attempted to swerve away from the oncoming pickup truck but collided with it.

Rescue crews had to use special equipment to remove the woman from her vehicle because of the impact. A passenger riding with the woman was treated at a medical facility for minor injuries and released shortly after treatment. An investigation was still being conducted to determine the factors that led to the accident.

A common mistake that usually leads to an car wreck like this one is when a driver attempts to cross an intersection too early, causing a side-impact collision in the process. Sometimes there may be some confusion whether a person has the right of way to cross the intersection. This confusion can lead to an auto accident causing serious or fatal injuries to the victims. Accidents like this one can easily be avoided if you yield to other vehicles that approach the intersection. If you allow other vehicles to cross the intersection or wait for them to yield to you, your safety will not be compromised.

In other cases, accidents like this can be caused when a person ignores the stop sign completely and does not stop for other vehicles at the intersection. If they are driving at a high rate of speed, it is possible for a car accident to occur. Depending on the speed of that vehicle, the impact and subsequent injuries could be very serious.

Nobody?s life should ever be threatened because of another person?s actions behind the wheel. ?
