Undated--It's time for high school seniors to sign on the dotted line and determine their future. All sports but football now open to sign letters of intent. Probably the biggest is also the most unexpected.
Laney basketball star Kadijah cave signing to play hoops with the top ranked team in the nation, Baylor. The Bears took interest during the Wildcats playoff run last year and saw her over the summer and liked her athletic abilities. Now, she's headed to Waco to become a Baylor Bear.
"I was shocked, I couldn't sleep for a couple of days I was so excited but now I'm just happy to get it over with and ready to go to Baylor" Kadijah Cave says laughing"
Cave just continues the rich Laney tradition of basketball.
Baseball was the sport of the day at South Aiken. Cory Bryant and Taylor Widener inking to play ball. Bryant is staying at home with USC Aiken, Widener is heading to one of the top programs in the nation South Carolina. Needless to say he's looking forward to play for one of the best
"There were other schools but I didn't really focus on them as much as Carolina with them being tops in the nation." said Taylor Widener "He was telling me it was pretty much up to me but he was thinking South Carolina was right for me."
Coastal Caroina was also on his list of possiblities but it was pretty much the Gamecocks all the way.
One of the top golfers in South Carolina will be part of history. Strom Thurmond's McKenzie Talbert inks her letter of intent to play at Clemson. The Tigers will have their first ever women's team next year and Talbert was set on the program from the start.
"It's awesome seeing everybody coming out and support something that I've been wanting to do for a very long time" said McKenzie Talbert "Now's the time and I'm ready to go off to Clemson and ready for what the future holds."
